SMEs with more than 10 employees based in the Scottish Enterprise area (most of Scotland: Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Fife, Stirling and Falkirk, Dundee, Perth and Angus, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde). Highlands and Islands, Moray, Argyll, Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders have their own agencies.
Identifying opportunities, assessing feasibility, piloting, implementing or scaling AI, staff training and governance. Not routine IT upgrades, off-the-shelf software or business as usual.
Implementing AI solutions is a listed activity, so external delivery is normally an eligible project cost, subject to Scottish Enterprise’s assessment of your application.
The project must be approved before any funded work starts and completed by 31 March 2027. Assessment times vary, so earlier enquiries leave more room.

Single-workflow systems typically run £8,000 to £20,000 depending on integrations and data. Feasibility projects from £5,000. Larger multi-process projects up to £50,000.
